Blooming Tea

Blooming teas

Blooming teas are hand-rolled tea leaves that are, together with the hidden small flowers, processed into neat balls or other shapes. Their preparation and taste is a real experience. They are a joy for the eyes and the taste buds. They can be a great and unusual gift.

Processing Blooming Tea

Blooming tea can be made from white, green or black in combination with blooms. The tea buds are picked relatively young in the early spring, before they open. The leaves are allowed to wilt slightly, dried for a time and then steamed. They gives them the suppleness for hand-rolling.

The flowers for blooming tea are chosen based on their shape and colour. The most frequently-used are jasmine, lilies, marigold and globe amaranth.
