Rooibos - EN
Rooibos is today a well-known type of “non-tea tea” in the Czech Republic and has found its place in multiple households. It is popular thanks to its delicious taste, the absence of caffeine (it is suitable for children) and its beneficial effects on the human organism.
Where Rooibos Tea Is at Home
Rooibos is a plant with thin branches and small, coniferous leaves. It is cultivated on plantations in South Africa, in the Cederberg mountains.
Green or Red Rooibos?
After harvesting, rooibos tea is cut into small, even pieces and then fermented and dried. Thanks to the fermentation rooibos obtains its typical amber colour and sweetish aroma. The result is red rooibos tea with a honey taste.
Green rooibos is processed in a similar way. The only difference is that it is not fermented. If you want to get to know the real taste of rooibos tea, try rooibos red.
Rooibos Tea and Its Effects
Rooibos tea is rich in anti-oxidants, does not contain any caffeine and has a very good influence on human health. It has a particular effect against allergies, digestive problems, nervousness, insomnia and depression. It has preventative effects against tumour and cardiovascular diseases.
