Oolong Tea
Oolong tea is a semi-fermented tea in the middle of green tea and black tea. Oolong tea marries the best of both.
Production of Oolong Tea
Whole tea leaves are picked for Oolong tea at the moment they are fully mature. The picked tea leaves are allowed to wilt. The leaves are then shaken, in order to break up their edges, which, thanks to this, oxidise faster than the centre. The most important step in the production of oolong is the art of catching the moment when it is necessary to stop fermentation. The fermented leaves are therefore rapidly heated. They are then rolled, to release the aroma and taste. In the end the tea is dried. The production of oolong tea, however, requires years of experience and specialist knowledge.
Oolong Tea and Its Effects
Oolong protects and strengthens the activity of the heart, and supports the circulatory, digestion and immune systems. The same as other types of teas, it gives the body natural anti-oxidants and vitamins B2, C and E.
